Want to Make Your Knife Look Even Better?
We know what it’s like... you sweated over the creation of your beautiful blade, and you want to show it off...

but you want it to be different to the rest...you want to make it your own!

You asked, we delivered!

Many, many, many of our bladesmith experience day customers have asked about a handle for their knife, and now we’ve come up with something that’s not only easy for you to do at home, but can truly make your knife just that little bit more unique and special...
Introducing... Our Paracord Handle Wrapping Kit!!

Not only do you get your choice of paracord which comes in 18 different colours, but you also get access to our VlakVark Forge training videos.
These videos will take you step by step through how to wrap your own knife and all for just £12.

To apply the kit, you will need a lanyard hole drilled in the handle of your knife.

If the knife you made at Vlakvark Forge doesn’t have a lanyard hole drilled in the handle, or the handle needs a little reshaping too, and you don’t feel confident doing it, then don’t worry. Just send your knife to us and we’ll get this done for you for just an extra £7.50 and we’ll post it back with your wrapping kit.

(Just make sure when posting your knife, you wrap the blade in thick cardboard from an old box and tape it up securely. If asked at the Post Office what’s in the packet say steel – perfectly true and acceptable to the PO. Just don’t use the K word!!!)

The shop will be open very soon!

Introducing... Our Synthetic Handle Scales!!

We have two options for you to choose from, Kirinite and Micarta.

But, what's the difference?

Kirinite Scales

Kirinite is a pure acrylic material that comes in stunning colours and patterns and will polish to a brilliant shine. It cannot, however, handle heat. Trimming and shaping of the scale once fitted to the knife is best achieved with hand tools or a belt sander with speed control, a sharp belt and running at very low speed. If you like a bit of bling then Kirinite is for you

Micarta Scales

Micarta is paper or hessian set in a phenolic resin and comes plain or layered colours. Micarta is incredibly tough but only cleans up to a satin finish.

It won’t burn if shaping on a single speed belt sander but can equally be finished using hand tools.

Not only do you get your choice of Kirinite Scales which come in 5 different colours (more to follow soon), a set of Bronze pins, special drill sizes to drill the handle and scales, but you also get access to our Vlakvark Forge training videos

These videos will take you step by step through how to fit handles to your own knife and all for just £18!

You will only need basic hand tools, a drill, files, sandpaper and elbow grease.

It’s possible that the handle of your knife hardened itself enough during heat treatment to give you trouble drilling it. If so, just send your knife to us and we’ll get this done for you for just an extra £12.50, which includes return postage.
