Would you like to make a Folding Pocket Knife that you can LEGALLY carry with you everyday?
Our fathers and grandfathers usually had a small pocket knife with them. A Joseph Rodgers was one of the most popular and was made in Sheffield. When I was in primary school (60+ yrs ago) we used to borrow our teachers Pocket Knife to sharpen our pencils!!!
We now have draconian knife laws that restrict what knives we can own and carry with us in public. This Pocket Knife is one that you can carry.
The blade is 3 inches long, the blade folds into the handle and doesn't lock when open. THIS MAKES IT LEGAL.

What to expect...
This is NOT a bladesmithing course. There is no whacking of hot metal on an anvil. This course is true Knife Making.
You will shape and fit various components to work and interact with each other to create the mechanism of your Folding Pocket Knife. It can be fiddly and frustrating at times but with the guidance of 3 generations of Clarke Knife Makers you will create your own Pocket Knife.
You will also have a choice of blade shapes that you can choose on the day:-
1) A drop point blade for general use
2) A straight blade ideal for whittling
3) A gardeners pruning blade
What's included in the price?
All materials and safety equipment will be supplied. Please wear old clothing and sturdy shoes. No shorts or open shoes.
Lunch, a variety of freshly made, well filled, baguettes, crisps, biscuits etc will be provided and refreshments, tea, coffee, cool drinks and water are available throughout the day.
If you have any special dietary requirements though you may wish to bring your own lunch and/or refreshments for the day.
